A beautiful city oozing with music, art and culture and steeped in history, Barcelona is not only one of the hottest cities in Europe, but one of the best in the world. We here at I’m a student get me out of here have compiled a list just for you of the top ten things to do in this fine City.

1) Park Güell:
Park Güell is a public park system composed of gardens and architectonic elements located on Carmel Hill, in Barcelona, Catalonia (Spain). The Park is located in La Salut, a neighborhood in the Gràcia district of Barcelona. With urbanization in mind, Eusebi Güell assigned the design of the park to Antoni Gaudí, a renowned architect and the face of Catalan modernism. The park was built between 1900 and 1914 and was officially opened as a public park in 1926.

To ensure entry to the park, be sure to book your tickets online here.

The Gothic Quarter is the centre of the old city of Barcelona. It stretches from La Rambla to Via Laietana, and from the Mediterranean seafront to Ronda de Sant Pere. It is a part of Ciutat Vella district. Including El Born, which is said to be where this great city was first created. Full of beautiful buildings with artistic detail etched into even the walls, and with hundreds of shops, hotels, restaurants and bars, El Barri Gòtic cannot be missed.

3) La Rambla:
The Spanish poet Federico García Lorca once said that La Rambla was “the only street in the world which I wish would never end.”

By day you can look at the beautiful Montjuïc castle, and by night, in a separate part of the neighborhood, you have the Font màgica de Montjuïc (The Magic Fountains).

With music playing out as the fountains dance along, it’s undoubtedly the most magical thing about this city.

6) Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia:
The Barcelona Cathedral is the Gothic cathedral and seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona, Spain. It was constructed from the 13th to 15th centuries, with the principal work done in the 14th century. The roof is notable for its gargoyles, featuring a wide range of animals, both domestic and mythical.
